Private Music Lessons
Private lessons are provided in violin, piano, guitar, or ukulele. Private music lessons involve learning a specific instrument along with music education. Violin lessons are provided using the Suzuki Method, a method of violin learning that is structured around listening and encouraging parental involvement with lessons and home practice. Piano is taught through various methods including Bastien books and Alfred’s Basic Piano, where students learn through building strong listening skills and note-reading. Parent involvement in their child’s music education is highly encouraged.
It is my belief that children deserve equal access to music. When and if appropriate, we can incorporate music education and instrumental learning into music therapy for children enrolled in music therapy services. For children with disabilities, I require to do a music therapy assessment first to see if lessons are appropriate.
